Not to make light of the underlying story, which is bad on some many levels. but...

Clandestine laboratory endangerment of a child.

This sounds like ninjas snuck into a high school science lab and stole all of the goggles and lab coats.

Yep. That's what caught my attention. It's such a goofy phrase and could be interpreted many different ways.
