What's with all the comment spam?

Has anyone else been getting tons of comment spam over the past few weeks? Yes, it's anonymous, so it all gets filtered, but then I have to clean up the comments list and it's a pain. And I'm worried that I might accidentally delete a real comment in the midst of a deleting frenzy.

So, what's with all the comment spam?

- Laura Crossett: "Wikipedia (along with a number of other sites) is planning to shut itself down for 24 hours this Wednesday as a protest against SOPA, the Stop Online Piracy Act. SOPA (the Senate version is called PIPA, the Protect IP Act). As you might guess, the idea of the act is to stop piracy by making it possible to "blacklist" or shut down sites that host pirated content. Critics--including a lot of major websites--say that the effect will instead be to cripple them, and cripple access to information in general, because the law would mean any site with anything on it that might possibly be piracy could be shut down entirely (so, like one pirated video on YouTube would mean YouTube would disappear). I imagine Wikipedia and other sites participating in the protest will have explanatory statements on their sites, but I am also guessing we may get patron questions, so it's probably best to be prepared."

Finally watched the January 1 ep. I'd avoided all spoilers and comments about anything Sherlocky - I basically skipped anything that said "Sherlock" (between the movie and the ep., I skipped a lot) -- so I didn't know anything about it.

Anyway.

Liked. A lot. I kept rewinding bits and pieces.

Need to watch again.

I also need a Watson icon.

And a Mrs. Hudson icon.
